The Classic Midwifery Congress was held this year on the island of Crete from September 25-29, 2025. This international congress, which featured speakers, workshops, and roundtables from around the world, aimed not only to present the traditional art of midwifery and birth support but also to establish warm friendships and a network. With their own words: “ We seek to create a nurturing space for practitioners to teconnect with ancient traditions, foster genuine relationships, and engage in meaningful dialogue about the future of Midwifery”

 

They believe in preserving the art of midwifery ad it was once practiced, blending it thoughtfully with yhe valuable insights of modern care, all in sevice to Mamababy and honoring the sacred journey of childbirth.

 

We as Turkiye Hand to Hand for Birth Assocation participated with 13 midwives, doctors, doulas and birth psychologist there. We are all childbirth educators as well.

Dr. Hakan Coker and Nese Karabekir was running two roundtables. Dr. Hakan Coker ‘s subject was “ Transforming a Medicalized Birth Approach into a Holistic Experience in the Hospital”.

Nese Karabekir presented “Dealing with Birth Trauma”.

It was very successful presences from our part. We also discussed how we can promote prenatal psychology for the next conferences.

They also gave white roses to the professionals in the childbirth more for 40 or 50 years and also 30 years.
